It's almost hard to put into words how special this car was. Gutted to have to send her off but she's had her time and gotten us more than half way across the world. RIP Dori, you will be missed!

Meet Cluck and Beans.

Beans actually came with me on the Rickshaw Run in 2018 when I drove a Tuk Tuk from the top of India to the bottom with a couple of good mates. He's still in the game today albeit probably has a few bugs in it so periodically loses some of his 'beans'.

Cluck Norris we picked up in Budapest and was named by none other than my close friend @thereal_geogeorge and is a quieter but deadlier pedestrian confusion tool.

Giving people the Cluck and Beans has been a genuine highlight of this trip - how the looks change from confusion to happiness is a sight to behold 😂

New team! What happened??

Team and people dynamics are one of the hardest parts of the rally. Even for teams that work well, being in a car for 6 weeks together through stressful situations can definitely create tension. I'd seen it before when I did the Rickshaw Run in 2018 and that was with people I knew well. Add strangers into the mix and it can get pretty dicey!

I'm not going to share too much more about this particular story except that I'm super grateful for everyone who checked in and helped me in realtime as well, particularly Craig and Alex from team Purple Rocket and my family who helped from afar.

Shoutout to @rakish_warrior_prince for putting together a hell of an evening.

Two weeks ago, I spent a couple of days on K'gari (Fraser Island) with 30 other awesome human beings where we picked up and sorted over 1.2 tonnes of rubbish from a fraction of the 126km long beach. K'gari gets it particularly bad because of where it is and ends up being a natural catchment area for all sorts of things from the east coast of Australia and even other countries.

I went because for me I need to see a problem with my own eyes to begin to understand how to solve it. What I saw was possibly one of the saddest problems humans have ever created. Almost all of the rubbish in this picture is plastic and won't break down for thousands of years. It'll just get smaller and smaller while we breathe it in, eat it in our food, and swim in it at the beach.

This is where plastic goes. It's easy not to think about it when we don't see it, but mismanaging our waste and continually producing more plastic will eventually bring the problem to your doorstep, in your parks, and to your beaches too.

While managing our waste better is one thing, ultimately we have to stop using single use plastic sooner rather than later. DM me if you wanna chat about how you can do that.

We’re taking on the Mongol Rally — a 20,000km overland journey from Scotland to the edges of Central Asia, in a tiny, questionably roadworthy car. It’s an adventure designed to embrace chaos, cross borders, and break down in spectacular fashion. But we’re not just doing this for the thrill — we’re doing it to raise money for Cool Earth, a climate charity that partners with Indigenous communities to protect endangered rainforest.

Cool Earth believes that people living in the rainforest are the best custodians of it — and we agree. By supporting their work, we’re helping back grassroots climate action that actually works. So while we’ll be out there dodging potholes and pushing the limits of our car (and sanity), the real mission is to make an impact.
